A private tutor, all year. A learning habit for life.

One-to-one tutoring is the most effective help a student can get, and it rarely stretches to every subject. Orimentis gives your child that kind of attention every day, across their subjects: from the homework they're stuck on tonight to the lesson that didn't land in class, right through GCSEs and A-levels. We treat them as capable young adults, not kids, let them lead their own learning, and build the habit they'll use for the next forty years.

One-to-one tutoring runs £50 an hour — £1,400–2,000 a year for a single subject, taught once a week. Orimentis starts with a 14-day trial, then£24.99 a month.

Year 10–13Built for the whole of GCSE & A-level, not just exam season.

What your child is using

A focused study environment built around dialogue, not delivery. We don't hand over answers; we help your child arrive at them, and build the habit of doing that on their own.

Socratic Method

The AI asks clarifying questions, encouraging the student to articulate their reasoning and identify their own gaps in knowledge.

STEM Focused

Deep specialisation in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Maths. We focus on areas where conceptual understanding is paramount.

A Habit That Outlasts the Exam

In a future where AI is reshaping careers, the real skill is the ability to pick something up, understand it deeply, and keep going when things change. That's the muscle we're building. Grades are a by-product.

When the class moves on, we don’t.

Your child sits in class at 9am and doesn’t quite get enzyme specificity. The teacher has twenty-nine other students and has to move on. At 4pm they come home, and Orimentis picks up exactly where the lesson left them: at their level, their pace, against the same AQA, Edexcel or OCR spec point the teacher was working to.

No teacher can give thirty students at mixed ability one-to-one attention all at once. That’s arithmetic, not a failing. This is the attention a busy classroom can’t give: the second chance after class, every day, all year.

Your part in it

You care more than anyone about how they’re doing. We make that care useful, by helping you support the understanding, not just chase the grade. And you don’t need to know the subject to do it.

You’ll see the shape of their learning. The transcript is never yours.

If your child chooses, you get a regular summary by email: the syllabus topics they worked on, which ones moved and which way, what’s getting harder or easier, and roughly what’s next. They see exactly what you’ll get before anything is sent, choose how often, and can stop at any time. It never includes what they typed, how long they studied, or any score. You don’t get to read the conversation, and you don’t see the photos of schoolwork they send the tutor either. A teenager who’s worried about being watched won’t ask the “silly” question that unlocks a whole topic. Keeping that space private is what lets them be honest, so the progress is yours to share in, and the conversation stays theirs.

Three ways to help at home

Ask them to explain it back

The surest test of real understanding is whether they can teach it to you. Ask them to walk you through what they worked on, and let them do the talking. If it’s solid, it comes out clearly.

Let the struggle sit

When they’re stuck, resist the urge to step in with the answer. Wrestling with a hard problem is where the learning actually happens. A little discomfort is the work, not a sign it’s going wrong.

Ask what clicked, not what they scored

Swap “did you finish your homework?” for “what finally made sense this week?” It keeps the conversation about understanding: the thing that lasts long after the grade is forgotten.

Why it feels different

Most edtech for teenagers is decorated for nine-year-olds and built to keep them clicking. Orimentis is adult-grade: calm, serious, and respectful of their time. The student leads; we suggest options and make progress visible, but we never order them around. That's how adults learn, and your child is almost one, preparing for the life that comes after school.

"The goal is not to finish the homework, but to master the concept, and to build the habit of doing it yourself."

Built for safety

Minimal DataWe collect only what the tutoring needs, plus usage analytics if you accept them.
No AdvertisingYour child is the student, not the product.
Built to UK & EU GDPRBuilt to meet EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation standards, with strong safeguards for children's personal data.
Built to the ICO Children's CodeEvery standard of the UK's Age Appropriate Design Code applies to every account, whatever their age, because we don't ask for it.

Honesty first: What this isn't

We want parents to have realistic expectations of AI's role in the household.

Not a ReplacementOrimentis is a supplement to school and teachers, not a substitute for professional instruction.
Not a Homework BotIt will refuse to simply write essays or solve problems without the student's active participation.
Not InfallibleLike all AI, it can make mistakes. We encourage students to check anything that looks wrong against their textbook.
Not a Social SpaceThere are no social features, messaging with peers, or public profiles. Purely educational.

Simple, secure access

Students sign in with a one-time code sent to their email, or with their Google account. No passwords to forget or compromise, and only the owner of the email can open their sessions.

Questions you might have

Can I monitor my child's conversations?
No. That's a deliberate choice, not a missing feature. Their conversations stay private, because a teenager who's worried about being watched won't ask the "silly" question that unlocks a whole topic. What you'll get instead, if they choose to send it, is a regular summary of the topics they worked on and how they moved, never the transcript.
How can I help if I don't know the subject?
You don't need to. The most useful things you can do need no subject knowledge at all: ask them to explain what they learned back to you, resist solving it for them, and ask what clicked this week rather than what they scored. That's the same Socratic stance the tutor takes, and it builds independence rather than dependence.
How accurate is the science tutoring?
The tutor is aligned to AQA, Edexcel and OCR specifications and uses the correct terminology. However, like all AI, it can make mistakes. We're transparent about this and encourage students to cross-reference with their textbook.
What will it cost?
Every account starts with a 14-day trial, with no card: the whole tutor, across their subjects, with a weekly allowance that comes back each Monday. When it ends, the tutor stops until you choose Learner, and nothing they did is lost. Learner is £24.99 a month, or £249.99 a year, with room for a full school week and more photos than the trial. The tutor is the same on the trial and on Learner, and you can cancel anytime. They can send you a link to pay for their plan; you don't need an account of your own. For comparison, a private tutor runs £50 an hour, or £1,400–2,000 a year for one subject taught weekly. Full details are on our pricing page.

One tutor across their subjects, every day.

One-to-one tutoring is the gold standard, and it rarely stretches to every subject. Here is the arithmetic you have probably already done, and where we land in it.

A private tutor£1,400–2,000 a year£50 an hour, once a week, across a school year. For one subject.
Orimentis£24.99 a monthThe whole tutor, on the Learner plan. Or £249.99 a year, 17% less. Start with the 14-day trial, no card.

Orimentis is there every day, across their subjects. If your child already has a tutor, we’re what happens between sessions: tonight’s homework, the lesson that didn’t land, the subject the tutor doesn’t cover. If they don’t, we’re there from the first question to the last. Either way, from Year 10 through to their final A-level.

Experience it together

The best way to understand Orimentis is to try a session alongside your child. Ask a complex biology question and see the dialogue unfold.
