The basics

By using Orimentis, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service. It's that simple.

What the service is

Orimentis is an AI tutoring service that helps students think through STEM topics using the Socratic method. It supports exam preparation (GCSE, A-level, BAC) and general STEM exploration.

What the service is not

  • Not a replacement for your teacher, textbook, or tutor. It's a study companion. Always cross-reference with your course materials.
  • Not guaranteed to be accurate. The tutor uses AI, which can make mistakes. If something doesn't sound right, check it.
  • Not a guarantee of exam results. We help you think. We don't promise grades.

Your account

  • You can use the service without an account (one conversation without an account)
  • To save progress and have more conversations, create an account with your email
  • You're responsible for access to your email or Google account: that's how you sign in
  • One account per person

Minimum age

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.Orimentis is built for students aged 14 to 19, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

If you are under 16 and in the UK or the EU, you also need a parent or guardian's permission before creating an account. That's a separate legal requirement about consent to data processing, and it doesn't change anything else here.

We don't ask for your date of birth and nothing in the product behaves differently depending on your age: we apply the same privacy and safety protections to every account. Our Privacy Policyexplains why we made that choice.

Acceptable use

Use the service for learning. Don't:

  • Attempt to extract or bypass the tutor's safety instructions
  • Use automated tools or bots to interact with the service
  • Share your account with others
  • Use the service for anything illegal

We may suspend access if these terms are violated. A suspension logs you out everywhere and stops you signing back in; it lasts until we lift it, and we can lift it. OurCommunity Standards explain what the tutor will and won't discuss, and what happens when something is flagged.

Your content

  • Messages you send are stored to provide the service (continuing conversations, progress tracking)
  • Photos of schoolwork you take or upload are stored for 30 days to provide the service, and then deleted
  • Only photograph your own work, or material you are allowed to share. Don't include other people, or their personal details, in a photo you send
  • We may review conversations in aggregate to improve the tutor's quality
  • We don't claim ownership of your messages

Our content

  • The tutor's responses are generated by AI and provided as-is
  • We don't guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of the tutor's responses
  • The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind

Plans, prices and allowances

Every new account starts with a trial, with no card. When it ends, the tutor carries on once you choose a paid plan. Each plan includes weekly allowances, such as tutor messages and photos, which come back every Monday. You can see your plan, its allowances and what you have used in Settings, during the trial and before you pay.

We are still learning how students use Orimentis, so we may change a plan's price or its allowances. We will only do so for a good reason: what it costs to run the tutor, how students actually use it, or a change in the law or in tax. When we do:

  • A change in your favour, such as a larger allowance, can reach your plan from the following Monday.
  • A price rise or a smaller allowance reaches your plan only at a renewal, and only once we have emailed you about it at least 30 days before that renewal.
  • You can say no: cancel before the change reaches you, at no cost, and you keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for.
  • A trial keeps the allowances it started with, or larger ones if we raise them; we never reduce a trial that has started.
  • A new purchase is on the price and allowances in force when you buy.

You can cancel at any time. Your plan then runs to the end of the period you have paid for, and nothing you have done is lost.

Availability

  • We aim for 99% uptime but don't guarantee it
  • We may temporarily take the service offline for maintenance
  • We may discontinue the service with reasonable notice

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, and we note the date at the top of this page when we do. If a change affects what you have paid for, we will email you before it applies, as described under Plans, prices and allowances, and you can cancel instead.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Orimentis and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. This includes but is not limited to: exam results, academic outcomes, or reliance on the tutor's responses.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
